Guidance Officer

At Currajong State School we have many support systems including access to our Guidance Office Karen Herbert.

Karen works at Currajong SS on the following days:

Every Monday

Tuesdays - odd weeks

Wednesdays and Thursdays even weeks

Every Friday

Karen provides guidance and support across our school community.

Parent Line is a telephone counselling, information and referral service for parents of children aged 0 to 18 years who live in Australia  13 11 14

Centacare NQ has been working with people across North Queensland since 1979.  We provide a range of programs to assist individuals, families and communities.

CYMHS service

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides specialist mental health services for children and young people and assistance to their families or carers.

CYMHS combines hospital and community-based facilities to provide free and confidential consultation, assessment and treatment of children and young people, 0-18 years, whose:

  • emotional and behavioural disorders are severe or complex

  • or at risk of becoming so

  • and whose needs cannot be met by other services.
