In July 2024 we celebrated our 70th birthday. Currajong SS is 70 years young.
We hosted an afternoon tea on Thursday afternoon for past staff and students. Our visitors were greeted by some of our young leaders. They then had the opportunity to have a look at old photos. The tuckshop provided an amazing afternoon tea (the scones were fabulous). We finished up with a school tour, visiting classrooms and looking (and talking about) all the changes that have happened.
On Friday morning, we had a special parade, with a roll call of past staff and students. Three of our teachers (Mrs Dark, Mr Graham and Miss Emmerton) are past students. When I called Mr Bill Nettle's name, a number of the senior students recognised the name and were excited to hear that the Bill Nettle cup was created by one of our own.
And of course, how can we have a birthday, without a cake.
