Those attending are encouraged to renew old friendships and arrange for further reminiscing over old times during catch ups over the weekend.  If you have photos of the school, events or group and class photos from the past 60 years, we are keen to receive copies (preferably jpg files) which can be e-mailed to the above address.  Hard copies can be delivered to the administation office.

The school has changed greatly over the past 60 years.  Curriculum, communication and technology have changed greatly, however the basic needs of students’ education remain much the same.  Society’s expectations combined with rapid advancements in technology have impacted on the need for many of the changes. The highset buildings which were built in true North Queensland style consisted of open verandas and classrooms with push out windows to take advantage of cooling breezes.  Classrooms and school facilities are now air-conditioned with state of the art computer and science technology available to all students.  Grounds which were once dusty in the dry months and a quagmire during the wet season have been transformed with high tech drainage, irrigation and mass plantings of native trees.  The grounds now provide shade in combination with first class sporting facilities.  In the past 5 years the school has seen major capital expenditure.  This has resulted in major refurbishment and expansion, culminating in the provision of new buildings such as the assembly hall, library, prep classrooms and most recently a new administration complex and public piazza.

The school motto of Alert and Faithful is as relevant today as it was when first installed 60 years ago.  This combined with the school values of being Respectful, Responsible, Resilient, Safe and Curious assists the school in retaining its reputation for being not just a good school, but a great school.
