Essential Services
Our OSHC service is dependent on the P&C to act as Approved Providers and has been running at near capacity all year. We are deeply grateful to Miss Amanda, Miss Ruby and their team for their consistent dedication to caring for our families outside of school hours. A massive amount of time and energy goes into planning, facility upkeep, and training and upskilling our educators.
Currajong is unlike some local schools that don't have a strong enough P&C or enough volunteers to operate a tuckshop every day. Our school, however, has a Tuckshop that has delivered delicious, fresh food, five days a week, all year. Convenor Deanne O'Neill, along with Emma Rynn, also helped maintain our 5 Green Apple Menu—no easy task!
They ensure we provide good nutrition to support learning, while still including special red food/ treats for events like the State of Origin and Halloween.
Last year, our community generously supported students in representative sports and various school projects.
Despite the lengthy process, we were also finally successful in installing new fencing around the remaining parts of the school. Between fundraising, Tuckshop, and OSHC, we have generated approximately $140,000 in 2025, contributing $49,000 to the school for new water coolers, student bus travel, and marquees.
The Future of the P&C
So, for those of you whose children will be attending Currajong in 2026—you are the future of our P&C. We are not asking you to commit to six years, or even to attend every meeting. We are simply asking you to step up and ensure the incredible services we've built—the five-day-a-week Tuckshop, the vital OSHC, and the funfilled events like the Colour Fun Run and Discos—can continue for your children.
