My name is Nathan, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Family Support Coordinator working alongside Currajong State School.
I come from a background in community services and mental health, with experience supporting young people and families through a range of challenges. I’m born and bred in Mount Isa, on Kalkadoon Country, but I’m proud to now call Townsville home and feel strongly connected to the local community.
Previously, I worked as a Youth Mental Health Worker at NRL Cowboys House, where I supported young people and their families to navigate a range of social and emotional challenges. In this role, I also had the opportunity to visit remote communities across the Gulf, Cape York, and the Torres Strait Islands, which gave me valuable insight into the strengths, culture, and diversity of the communities we work alongside.
I’m passionate about building strong, positive relationships and helping families feel supported, connected, and confident in accessing the right services.
In my role, I’m here to work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to support engagement and positive outcomes both at school and at home. Whether it’s linking families in with services, providing guidance, or simply being a supportive point of contact, I’m here to help.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know the Currajong State School community and working together to support our students to thrive.
